Another use for jam...spoon it into a smoothie!

The quickest way I know to put some pizazz in a protein smoothie is to add homemade jam. No hard and fast rules here. Feel free to experiment by trying different fun combinations.

This morning I added a spoonful of Red Raspberry Jam to my usual blend of ice, nonfat yogurt, fresh bananas, protein powder and water....

...gave it a whirl...

...and 15 seconds later I had a quick breakfast that reminded me of summer sunshine. Fresh raspberry flavors came shining through on an otherwise dreary October morning.  So if you have a jar of jam, jelly or preserves in your fridge, don't just spread them on toasted bread. Get creative!

I'll leave you with a few more ideas for smoothie & milkshake add-ins:

Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly

Chocolate Syrup & Cherry Preserves

Apple Butter with a sprinkle of cinnamon

Bananas & Orange Marmalade

Vanilla Syrup & Strawberry Jam
